The first-ever International Potluck Summer Music Festival scheduled from 5 to 9 p.m. tonight has been moved to Olivet Lutheran Church, 1330 S University Dr. in Fargo.
The music festival was moved because of scattered thunderstorms forecasted for the Fargo-Moorhead area this afternoon. This allows for the festival to go on, and all performers will still perform.
In addition, the Adibon Ethnic Catering and Suna’s Egyptian Eatery food trucks will still be serving up their delicious food tonight. The trucks will be stationed in the Olivet parking lot. This means festival attendees do not need to bring a food dish to share.
The event is free and open to the public and features live music and family-friendly entertainment. Parking is available on the east side of the church. This is also where festival-goers will enter the church.
The festival will feature live musical performances from acoustic guitar player Kwaician, hip hop dance crew The Krownz, blues rock band Sons of Mars, vocalist Durow, and more.
The festival will also feature a performance by children attending the event. The children’s performance will be coordinated by Musical Bridges, an organization that connects culture among children through music and interactive learning.
The International Potluck is an ongoing group of community members interested in connecting with others through shared food and stories. Monthly gatherings are scheduled throughout the Fargo-Moorhead community for residents to pair potluck dinners with conversations around culture. All potlucks are free and open to the public. While bringing a food dish important to an individual’s heritage or culture is encouraged, individuals are not required to bring a dish of food.
