August 2017 International Potluck event

The August 2017 International Potluck event was held not long after the devastating act of hatred that took place in Charlottesville.

Just before the event, IP Founder Peter Schott wrote in the organization's Facebook group: "I came home on Sunday after having my phone shut off for nearly two days. My heart was dismayed to hear about the events that happened in Charlottesville. I understand that people are angry, for I also feel anger. I also feel sad, confused, hurt, and embarrassed. Now is a time for all of us to come together in love and unity. Please join me at the International Potluck this Thursday at the Plains Art Museum. ... 'Our sorrows and wounds are healed only when we touch them with compassion.' - Buddha"

And people did turn out. It was a tremendous event.

Schott wrote on the group's Facebook page afterward: "From beginning til end, Potluck was awesome, Recognizing the greatness & potential in each of us were here for. I had an opportunity to meet great people of our Fargo / Moorhead community. Thank you everyone for coming out and for your support."

Attendee Diane Clark wrote on the organization's Facebook page: "International potluck last night was such a fun event! So glad I was able to be there. Laetitia was inspirational and I have already started reading her book! Looking forward to the next one."
