FARGO – The Human Family and the Rethink Dance Company are excited to share the official program for the 2019 Rethink Dance Film Festival.
The festival will take place at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8 at the Fargo Theatre in Fargo, and will showcase nine films from six countries that showcase the fusion of cinematography and choreography. General admission tickets are $7 in advance and $10 at the door. Students and seniors 55 and older tickets are $3.
The festival lineup includes: "ICON" directed by Guillaume Versteeg of the Netherlands, "T.I.A." (THIS IS AFRICA) directed by Matthieu Maunier-Rossi of Congo, "INTRINSIC MORAL EVIL" directed by Harm Weistra of the Netherlands, "DANCING IN SILK" directed by Magali An Berton of the United States, "THE STOP" directed by Komrakova Liudmila of the Russian Federation, "ORENDA" directed by Camila Saldarriaga of Spain, "SIRENS TANGO" directed by Lisa Le Lievre of the United States, "BREATHING SPACES" directed by Carolyn Pampalone Rabbers of the United States and "DANCING7CITIES" directed by Nicholas Rowe of New Zealand.
The Rethink Dance Film Festival showcases artist in front of and behind the camera working to challenge the traditional structures of choreographic storytelling and artistic expression. Through art, the work of choreographers, dancers and filmmakers should inspire our communities to discover our shared humanity. Films screened at the festival reflect the beauty and synchronicity between the choreography of dance with the choreography of cinematography.
The Rethink Dance Film Festival is a partnership between The Human Family and the Rethink Dance Company.
This is the second annual 2019 Rethink Dance Film Festival.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and screenings of dance films from choreographers and filmmakers from around the world will begin at 7 p.m.
